The work environment

Mount Madonna is a well-established, multigenerational community and retreat center set on 380 acres in the Santa Cruz mountains overlooking the Monterey Bay. Features of the work environment include:

Baker
Crafting wholesome, memorable meals
Join the Mount Madonna kitchen team in crafting delicious, nourishing baked goods that support a wholesome vegetarian dining experience. We’re seeking an experienced baker with commercial kitchen skills and a love for simple, high-quality ingredients.
You will be part of a warm, collaborative team dedicated to food as a form of service and care. From breads and desserts to daily treats, your creativity and consistency will help create memorable meals for our guests, residents, and staff.

Guest Services Director
Promoting an exceptional guest experience
As the Guest Services Director, you’ll be the driving force behind creating seamless and welcoming experiences for every guest — from pre-arrival communications to on-site logistics and post-departure follow-up. You’ll lead and support the office staff while serving as the primary liaison for program hosts who bring their transformative work to Mount Madonna.
Mount Madonna Center is experiencing dynamic growth and this role offers the opportunity to shape the future of the Guest Services department. Your leadership will help cultivate an environment where guests feel a deep sense of belonging and leave with lasting, meaningful experiences.

Massage Therapist
Holding space for rest, healing, and transformation
Join the Kaya Kalpa Wellness Center team in offering restorative bodywork and Ayurvedic therapies to the guests, residents, and staff of Mount Madonna Center. We’re seeking a certified massage therapist with availability throughout the week, especially Friday – Sunday, to support increased guest flow.
You will be part of a warm, professional, and grounded team dedicated to supporting others on their personal healing journeys. If you’re local to Aptos, Santa Cruz, Monterey, Gilroy, or Morgan Hill, we’d especially love to connect with you.

Volunteer Opportunities
Become part of Mount Madonna
Decades of volunteerism laid the foundation for Mount Madonna, and an embodied practice of karma yoga, or “the yoga of action,” remains the ethos for all service on the campus. Service as a volunteer is usually in the areas of kitchen, dining room, dish room, gate, events & hospitality, and landscaping. There is a three-month commitment for this opportunity.
