Inspired in 1978 by the teachings and example of master yogi Baba Hari Dass, Mount Madonna holds space for personal transformation. Through a community of practice, stewardship of sacred land, preservation of knowledge, and lifelong learning, Mount Madonna exists to support and foster peace in the world.

The work environment

Mount Madonna is a well-established, multigenerational community and retreat center set on 380 acres in the Santa Cruz mountains overlooking the Monterey Bay. Features of the work environment include:

  • Asana (postures), pranayama (breathing techniques), meditation and Yoga philosophy classes
  • Walking and hiking trails with broad vistas, redwood forests, ponds and wildlife

Guest Services Director

Promoting an exceptional guest experience

As the Guest Services Director, you’ll be the driving force behind creating seamless and welcoming experiences for every guest — from pre-arrival communications to on-site logistics and post-departure follow-up. You’ll lead and support the office staff while serving as the primary liaison for program hosts who bring their transformative work to Mount Madonna.

Mount Madonna Center is experiencing dynamic growth and this role offers the opportunity to shape the future of the Guest Services department. Your leadership will help cultivate an environment where guests feel a deep sense of belonging and leave with lasting, meaningful experiences.

Volunteer Opportunities

Become part of Mount Madonna

Decades of volunteerism laid the foundation for Mount Madonna, and an embodied practice of karma yoga, or “the yoga of action,” remains the ethos for all service on the campus. Service as a volunteer is usually in the areas of kitchen, dining room, dish room, gate, events & hospitality, and landscaping. There is a three-month commitment for this opportunity.
