Welcoming Andy Tompsett,
Our First Philanthropy Director!
Building the Foundation for a Sustainable Future
We are pleased to welcome Andy Tompsett as Mount Madonna’s first Philanthropy Director. Service and giving have always been central to our work; however, we have never had a dedicated staff member for fundraising — nor a formal fundraising strategy. With Andy’s arrival, we are eager to build on our history of service and giving, and continue mobilizing the resources needed to support our mission and long-term sustainability.
Andy is a familiar and beloved presence in our community. A former resident of Mount Madonna Center, a former member of the Hanuman Fellowship Board, and a contributor to our first strategic plan, he carries a genuine understanding of Mount Madonna’s mission and a heartfelt connection to this place.
With nearly 20 years of nonprofit experience and public-sector leadership in global health, Andy brings a steady, compassionate approach to team building, strategic thinking, and donor engagement. His work in global health has taken him around the world, leading multicultural teams in fourteen countries. He now brings that experience to Mount Madonna, helping shape our first comprehensive philanthropic program.
Andy lived on the mountain with his family from 2021 to 2024 and found deep meaning in raising a child in community. Today, he lives in St. Paul, Minnesota, with his wife, Haley, and their children, Kai and Nell, and remains dedicated to supporting the well-being of our residential community and the long-term sustainability of our shared work.
We’re delighted Andy is stepping into this role. Please join us in giving him a warm welcome — and don’t be surprised if you hear from him by email, text, or call in the coming months!
