Healing with Sound
Healing with Sound, guided by Fehrunnisa and Junayad Moore | 2:30 - 3:45 p.m.
In this experiential class we will unite Himalayan singing bowls with vocal toning, which involves using your breath and sound in a directed way to settle and “tune” your whole self. You can expect to feel a sense of being restored to a natural state of integrated wholeness. This sound healing is especially beneficial if you are desiring balance, respite, and support during times of stress or seeking inner peace during life transitions or a time of change.
The sound healing will align with the principle of Nada Brahma, that the world is sound. Sound refers not only to audible things, but also to everything that is whole, unimpaired, firm and healthy. Your health is sound. Therefore, together, we will sound, produce sound, and trust in the intelligence within the sound, to create harmony within ourselves. The theory of harmony states that every dissonance tends toward becoming a harmony.
During our time together we will play with feeling the resonant vibrations from the sounds we intone: feeling them in our bodies, directing the sounds to various parts of the body, and listening inwardly to the resulting vibrational energetic and physical shifts that occur. This class is intended to be an empowering experience, giving us tools to work with on our own.
This will be a safe environment for all. Anyone can tone – you do not need any vocal or singing talent! We will not be learning songs or chants or doing any solo performing. Come let yourself be a guide for your own healing!
The day’s program will also include:
- Brunch & dinner in the shared community dining hall
- Personal time
- Yoga class
- Option to stay after dinner for arati (ritual of light) at the Sankat Mochan Hanuman Temple
- Option to book a wellness treatment at the Kaya Kalpa Wellness Center (fees additional, advance reservations recommended)
Register for a Mountain Experience day visit or an overnight Personal Retreat and be a part of this session of resonance with the natural world around us.

Fehrunnisa and Junayad Moore
Fehrunnisa and Junayad Moore are Level III Advanced students of Tibetan Bowl Sound Healing with their teachers, Diane Mandle and Karma Sonam Dorje. They are senior teachers of the Inayati Sufi Order and have led meditation classes and retreats for 35 years. In addition, they lead group pilgrimage treks in the Annapurna region of the Himalayas.
They have helped others to find their “centering tones” for resilience, especially during journeys with cancer. They are a community resource for Hospice of Santa Cruz County, supporting hospice patients and their families in finding centering tones for creating calm and strength during end of life. They are often asked to play their Tibetan bowls during hospice vigils to create an atmosphere of peace.
