INSTITUTE
MASTER THE SCIENCE OF YOGA
at Mount Madonna, California
Embodying the teachings imparted by Baba Hari Dass to the Mount Madonna community since 1971, Mount Madonna Institute’s 300-hour Advanced Yoga Studies program offers an integrative approach to mastering the vast science of yoga by combining study, practice, and self-reflection. Completion of this approved Yoga Teacher Training 300-hour course allows you to become registered at the 500 level through Yoga Alliance.
This advanced course is a continuation of a YTT 200 Certification. Prior YTT 200 certification from a Yoga Alliance approved school is a prerequisite.* Additionally, students who completed their YTT 200 elsewhere are required to take Yoga and Ayurveda: The Essentials before the program begins. YTT 300 is also an integral part of our Ayurvedic Yoga Therapy* program. (*Transfer credits may apply.)
With Ashtanga Yoga as the foundation, we dive deeper into the philosophical traditions of yoga, including Raja Yoga, Hatha Yoga, Mantra Yoga, Bhakti Yoga, Tantra Yoga, Vedic Ritual and Karma Yoga. Foundational texts and references for these studies include Patanjali’s Yoga Sutras, the Hatha Yoga Pradipika, the Gheranda Samhita, the Bhagavad Gita, the Samkhya Karika, the Upanishads, the Vedas, and the writings of Baba Hari Dass.
To make this YTT 300 program more accessible, we have moved to a combined online/residential format delivered over eight months. We bookend the training with two in-person modules at the beginning (September) and at the end (April). The middle six months (October through March) are fully online.
Mount Madonna Institute has been a Registered Yoga School (RYS) with Yoga Alliance since 2002 and accredited by the Western Association of Schools and Colleges.
