Mount Madonna Institute is accredited by WASC Senior College and University Commission (WSCUC). This academic recognition of excellence helps ensure future growth, legitimacy and a respected voice for Ayurveda and Yoga within the expanding national Integrative Health Science professions.
Mount Madonna Institute (MMI) was granted Initial Accreditation by the WASC Senior College and University Commission (WSCUC) in November of 2019. MMI hosted a special visit by the WSCUC team in spring of 2023.
In addition, the team placed MMI on a Notice of Concern. The accredited status of MMI continues during the Notice of Concern.
IAYT promotes yoga as a healing art and science since 1989 and its mission is to advance yoga therapy as a recognized health profession. Membership is open to yoga practitioners, teachers, therapists, healthcare providers integrating yoga, and researchers sharing this mission.
Since 2002, Mount Madonna’s Yoga Teacher Training has been approved by the Yoga Alliance, the largest nonprofit association representing the yoga community, with over 7,000 Registered Yoga Schools (RYS) and more than 100,000 Registered Yoga Teachers (RYT) as of April 2020.

The Ayurvedic Yoga Therapy program is accredited by the International Association of Yoga Therapists (IAYT) and offered at Mount Madonna Institute, which is approved by the Bureau for Private Postsecondary Education (BPPE) 1747 N. Market Blvd, Ste 225, Sacramento, CA 95834.
