Keeping Your Cool in the Summer

Ayurvedic daily routines are the foundation of leading a balanced and vital lifestyle. There are many and varied Ayurvedic routines with options to adapt them to one’s unique constitution and current situation. In this wellness talk and practice with Jen Rand, you will learn about how to use Ayurveda plus Yoga poses and breathing practices for cooling the body during the hot summer days.
The day’s program will also include:
- A guided tour of the Mount Madonna campus (weather permitting)
- Lunch & dinner in the shared community dining hall
- Personal time
- Option to stay for arati (ritual of light) after dinner at the Sankat Mochan Hanuman Temple
- Option to book a wellness treatment at Kaya Kalpa Wellness Center (fees additional, advance reservations recommended)

Jen RandM.A., RYT 500
Jen’s experience in teaching spans over 15 years and includes teaching English to newcomer students, working as an Outdoor Education Naturalist, and teaching Spanish in the elementary and middle school at Mount Madonna. She has also worked in administration, serving as the office manager at a charter school before joining Mount Madonna Institute as a Program Coordinator in 2020. She currently serves as the Secretary of the Mount Madonna Institute Board of Directors and teaches yoga online.
