Honoring the Winter Solstice
A SPECIAL RESTORATIVE YOGA CLASS
Through taking a pause during the sacred time of the Solstice, when half of Earth is tilted the farthest away from the sun, we can address melancholy and sadness and go beyond the mundane of self-limiting narratives. Through paying close attention to mind and body, we may discover greater meaning and purpose in life. Winter solstice offers a time to give thanks to the sun for making its return once again.
Join Anand for a special restorative yoga class, a healing practice of holding asana (postures) for longer periods of time with the weight of the body supported by props. Dive deep into the art of relaxation through skillful direction of breath and concentration within each posture, with the support of live chanting of divine mantras (sacred chanting) and kirtan (devotional singing).
The day’s program will also include:
- A guided tour of the Mount Madonna campus (weather permitting)
- Lunch & dinner in the shared community dining hall
- Personal time
- Option to stay for arati (ritual of light) after dinner at the Sankat Mochan Hanuman Temple
- Option to book a wellness treatment at Kaya Kalpa Wellness Center (fees additional, advance reservations recommended)
To participate, please book a Mountain Experience day visit or an overnight Personal Retreat (for your Personal Retreat, please choose the dates that correspond with this special class).
