Foundations of Classical Ashtanga Yoga | Cancelled November 12
Tuesdays & Thursdays 7:00 – 8:30am in the Redwood Room
This series of classes is designed to give a foundation of the teachings and practices of Classical Ashtanga Yoga (eight-limbed path) as taught by Baba Hari Dass. Asana (postures), pranayama (breathing techniques), meditation, and brief glimpses into the Yoga philosophy behind them are taught and practiced alongside one another. The teachings presented in this course are foundational for more intermediate practices also offered at Mount Madonna.
This class series is held from 7:00 to 8:30 a.m. every Tuesday and Thursday and is a great primer for the practices and philosophy of Yoga as well as a means for either developing or strengthening your own personal practice.
7:00 to 7:45 a.m. will be devoted to pranayama and meditation, and 7:45 to 8:30 a.m. will be devoted to asana practice. Anand leads the series with Soma Goresky, Purnima Conway, Jaya Maxon and other rotating teachers. Please join us in coming together to support each other in practices that bring health, clarity, and peace to both the mind and body.
