A Celebration of Sound
Yoga Asana Meets Vibrational Sound Healing
Join us for a rejuvenating blend of sound healing and yoga, where mindful movement readies you for the vibrations of Himalayan singing bowls and vocal toning to restore balance and inner stillness.
This special experience begins with a yoga asana (postures) class rooted in Classical Ashtanga Yoga (eight-limbed path). Led by Lori Hansen, the class welcomes all levels and includes pranayama (breathing techniques), meditation, and asana, gently grounding the body and awakening subtle pathways of energy in preparation for the healing vibrations that will follow.
We will then transition into A Celebration of Sound guided by Fehrunnisa and Junayad Moore. Uniting Himalayan singing bowls with vocal toning, this experiential practice uses breath and sound to “tune” your whole being. Especially supportive in times of stress or change, it offers a sense of balance, refuge, and respite.
Rooted in the principle of Nada Brahma — “the world is sound” — this practice recognizes vibration not only as what we hear but as everything that is unimpaired, steady, and healthy. Together we will create and experience sound, trusting its innate intelligence to realign us from within. In this way, every dissonance is welcomed as a movement toward resonance and harmony.
Anyone can participate; no vocal training is needed. This is a safe, empowering space to dissolve into ease, open into receptivity, and cultivate the inner stillness from which true sound and healing can emerge.
The day’s program will also include:
- A guided campus walk to Sunset Ridge (weather permitting)
- Brunch & dinner in the shared community dining hall
- Personal time
- Option to stay for arati (ritual of light) after dinner at the Sankat Mochan Hanuman Temple
- Option to book a wellness treatment at Kaya Kalpa Wellness Center (fees additional, advance reservations recommended)
To participate in this special class, please register for a Mountain Experience day visit or Personal Retreat overnight stay.
Please note: this yoga class and sound experience are appropriate for ages 13+.

Fehrunnisa & Junayad MooreFehrunnisa and Junayad Moore are Level III Advanced students of Tibetan Bowl Sound Healing with their teachers, Diane Mandle and Karma Sonam Dorje. They are senior teachers of the Inayati Sufi Order and have led meditation classes and retreats for 35 years. In addition, they lead group pilgrimage treks in the Annapurna region of the Himalayas.
They have helped others to find their “centering tones” for resilience, especially during journeys with cancer. They are a community resource for Hospice of Santa Cruz County, supporting hospice patients and their families in finding centering tones for creating calm and strength during end of life. They are often asked to play their Tibetan bowls during hospice vigils to create an atmosphere of peace.
