The holiday season is often filled with hustle, bustle, social engagements, and a full calendar. Increased engagement and movement combined with changing seasonal patterns affect us, making us more susceptible to illness, burnout, or fatigue. However, we can make adjustments to our daily habits and routines to better align with the cycles of nature. In this wellness class with Jen Rand, you will learn about the predominant Ayurvedic qualities present in the winter season and how to apply basic Ayurvedic principles in order to achieve balance in mind and body in order to feel resilient, productive, and full of vitality. Following the presentation there will be a yoga class focused on practices that can be incorporated to find balance in the busy winter season.

The day’s program will also include:
- A guided tour of the Mount Madonna campus (weather permitting)
- Lunch & dinner in the shared community dining hall

- Option to stay for arati (ritual of light) after dinner at the Sankat Mochan Hanuman Temple
- Option to book a wellness treatment at Kaya Kalpa Wellness Center (fees additional, advance reservations recommended)

Jen RandMA, RYT 500
Jen completed her 200-, 300-, and 500-hour trainings in classical Ashtanga Yoga with Mount Madonna Institute. She is experienced in teaching students of all ages both in-person and online and works with students in Ayurveda and Yoga trainings at Mount Madonna. Her yoga practice is deeply influenced by her studies of Ayurveda, which allow her to offer options and modifications to help students tailor their practice to what they need. She is currently pursuing her studies in Ayurvedic Yoga Therapy. In addition to practicing yoga, she enjoys gardening, cooking, hiking with her dog, and spending time with her husband and cat.
