At Mount Madonna School of Yoga, we have been training yoga teachers for nearly 50 years.
Our signature Foundational Yoga Studies Yoga Teacher Training 200 Hours In-Person Intensive, Foundational Yoga Studies Yoga Teacher Training YTT 200 Hours 6-month Online Program, and our Advanced Yoga Studies Yoga Teacher Training YTT 300 Hours Program are approved by the national yoga registry, the Yoga Alliance, and are led by an extensive faculty; many of whom have been practicing, studying, and teaching yoga at Mount Madonna in Northern California for almost half a century.
Our Ayurvedic Yoga Therapy program is certified by the International Association of Yoga Therapists (IAYT) and recognized by the National Ayurvedic Medical Association (NAMA).
Join an ancient lineage and wisdom tradition which covers a broad range of yoga theory, philosophy, and practice, with particular emphasis on the Classical Ashtanga Yoga (eight-limbed path) system as described in Patanjali’s Yoga Sutras.
Immerse yourself in a yogic lifestyle and deepen your practice during this month-long in-person intensive. Learn to teach meditation, pranayama (breathing techniques), and asana (postures) while living within community at our 380-acre retreat center in the Santa Cruz Mountains, sharing meals and daily practice with fellow students and experienced faculty.
Immerse yourself in a yogic lifestyle and deepen your practice through this online 6-month program. Connect with faculty and peers in a supportive online community, and attend real-time virtual classes, learning to teach meditation, pranayama (breathing techniques), and asana (postures) from anywhere in the world.
Building on the 200-hour program, the Advanced Yoga Studies 300-hour offering combines study, practice, and self-reflection. With Classical Ashtanga Yoga as its foundation, students deepen into Raj, Hatha, Mantra, Bhakti, Tantra, Vedic ritual, and Karma Yoga, guided by key texts including Patanjali’s Yoga Sutras, the Hatha Yoga Pradipika, the Bhagavad Gita, and the writings of Baba Hari Dass in a blended online/residential format.
Unite the sister sciences in this IAYT-accredited and NAMA-recognized program. Explore pathology through Ayurveda and offer therapeutics from the limbs of Yoga, drawing on the Ayurvedic Health Counselor (AHC) and Advanced Yoga Studies (YTT 300) programs, expanded through our Ayurveda-Yoga Integration offering.
Give back to Mount Madonna! Apprenticeship within our Yoga Teacher Training programs creates a progressive sequence of learning opportunities to further develop your skills as a yoga teacher while holding space for others to transform. Hear the teachings all over again as you support students through this amazing journey.
